香港著名指揮家 - 魏龍勝 Kelvin Ngai

Kelvin Ngai Lung Shing Mr. Kelvin Ngai Lung Shing graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he received a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) Degree. He joined the highly-acclaimed Asian Youth Orchestra for a performance tour to Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Hong Kong USA, Canada and Australia. Mr Ngai received the Bernard van Zudines Music Fund and the Peabody Scholarship to further his studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University in the United States and obtained his Master of Music Degree under the tutelage of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Assistant Principal Trumpet Mr. Edward Hoffman. He also joined the Peabody Symphony Orchestra in a performance at the Lincoln Center in New York. Recently, he was awarded the Licentiate of Trinity College London in trumpet performance. He frequently participates in numerous professional orchestra and Music Festivals, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia, Asian Chamber Orchestra, City Chamber Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, MTD International Orchestra, Macau Orchestra, Fresh Air Brass Quintet, ZARS Brass Quintet, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Macau International Music Festival, The Conference of Asia and Pacific Band Directors Association etc. He served as a guest trumpeter with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Hong Kong Sinfonietta which had a concert tour to France, Japan and China. He also participated as a conductor in “The Art of Band Conducting and Rehearsing Workshop” at the University of Texas in Austin, USA. His conducting teachers included Ms. Wing-Sze Yip, Dr. Harlan D.Parker, Jerry Junkin, Richard Floyd, D.Thomas Lee. Mr. Ngai conducted the Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinu and studied the orchestral conducting with Don Schleicher, Kirk Trevor and Tomaš Netopil at International Conducting Institute in Kromeriz, Czech Republic. He has Cooperated with many well-known musicians including violinst Li Chuan Yun, pianist Shen Wenyu, Dr, Helen Cha, Beverly Leung and pop singers Alan Tam etc.. Mr. Ngai currently serves as a faculty member of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Honorary Artists in Residence and Symphony Orchestra conductor of The Education Univeristy of Hong Kong. He is the founder and music director of the Psalm Wind Orchestra and also the resident conductor of the Hong Kong Professional Winds. His conducting bands and orchestras have won over 50 Gold and Champion awards including the the European Music Festival for Young People (Neerpelt – Belgium, EMJ), Hong Kong School Music Festival, International Wind Band Festival in Taiwan, Australia International Music Festival and Singapore International Band Festival, World Orchestra Festival etc... He also spends much of his time to serve as a conductor of the choir, orchestra, as well as guest conductor with various ensembles throughout Asia. Recently, he is granted the best conductor award, the Ko Bongsik Award, of the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival in Korea.
